Great Day 2008 - Obligations and Schedule

Member Obligations: - All members must donate to the Country Store: contact Delaine Eflin or Joni Thomason
- All members must sell a minimum of ten (10) opportunity tickets: contact Margie Simmons
- All members must attend the meeting at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 7th.
   
SUNDAY, November 2, 2008  
   9:00 am Booth Set Up Committee is to meet at the Lawton House area to mark booths.  Contact Laurie Cain for specific duties for field marking.
   
FRIDAY, November 7, 2008  
   12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Drop off Country Store items - NO CARS allowed on the grounds after 2:00 pm.
Country Store members will be at the Lawton House by 12:30 pm to accept your items before you go to the meeting. Remember to tag your items with your name and name of item. Do not price them; the Country Store Committee will do this. All food MUST be home made. If you cannot bake yourself, please contact Delaine Eflin or Joni Thomason to make arrangements for you. Members who cannot help on Great Day weekend must contribute to the Country Store.
 
   2:00 pm General Club Meeting at the clubhouse. All members are required to attend this meeting. Please wear your work clothes.

Booth Set Up:
Meet with Booth Set Up Chairmen Laurie Cain, Susan Witty and Lynn Evans as soon as the general meeting is over to receive your final instructions for Exhibitors set up (4:00 pm – 6:30 pm). It is important that every woman be there if they are assigned to Booth Set Up. If you are assigned to another committee and find you’re not busy, please help with set up. We are short on help in this area and can use all the help we can get.

Tickets:
Bring your unsold tickets, money and stubs to the meeting. Remember, if tickets and/or money are not turned in by November 10th, you are responsible for the payment of your tickets. Committee members, meet with Margie Simmons after the meeting.
 
   3:00 pm Committee Chairman will gather their assigned members.
 
   4:00 pm - 6:30 pm Exhibitors Set Up.
   
SATURDAY, November 8, 2007  
   5:45 am Booth Set Up members be at your post with flashlight.
 
   6:00 am Grounds members be at your post with flashlight.
 
   8:00 am Go to your next post.
 
   6:00 am - 8:00 am Exhibitors Set Up.
 
   9:00 am - 4:00 pm Great Day 2008
 
   4:00 pm Go to assignments for clean up.
   
Volunteers We need them! Call Maxine Jester or Karen Richardson. All volunteers must pick up their name tags in person on Saturday morning at the Volunteer booth.
 
Attire Wear red and white striped Great Day in the Country shirts, name tag and comfortable shoes. Purses may be left in the Hospitality Room at your own risk. All drink workers should bring their own pair of rubber gloves to protect against cold and ice.
 
Parking Unless you have a parking pass, park at the Baptist Church or clubhouse.
 
Safety If you see an unsafe situation on the grounds, notify a uniformed police officer or the chairman immediately. No one may solicit on the grounds. Nothing may be sold by a person who has not purchased a booth. All police Explorers have radios and are in contact with the police if you need help.
 
Hospitality Room This room is for the OWC members, Juniorettes, police officers, fire fighters, volunteers and anyone else that the Great Day Chairmen approve, to use the restroom and have a bite to eat. Please limit your time there. Please do not bring friends or relatives into the room - visit outside. Name tags are needed to enter the Hospitality Room. The Booth Exhibitors come in to make change only.
 
First Aid The Fire Department will be on the grounds in case of an emergency or minor problems. Please direct lost parents or children to the Fire Department truck located near the corner of Broadway and Lawton Avenue.
 
Sudden Storms In case of storms or lightning, personal safety comes first. Direct people to the school auditorium. OWC members go to any open rooms. Bring money to the Hospitality Room. Secure sound equipment and golf carts in a sheltered area.
 
Relief Work If your assigned area shuts down early, please do not leave! Go to the Volunteer Booth to see where you can help out next.
 
Clean Up Everyone is assigned to help clean up the grounds at the end of the day! First, clean up your assigned area; then do a general clean up of the grounds. Exhibitors and Food Vendors are required to take their trash with them and clean their areas. Make sure they are doing this. The school’s dumpsters are off limits. Great Day dumpsters will be located near Garden Street entrance and South Lake Jessup entrance. We must be sure that all school grounds are clean.
   
SUNDAY, November 9, 2008  
   9:00 am Clean Up Grounds - Go to brunch afterwards. If you should have any questions or need any additional information, please call your chairman.
