Philanthropic

The Oviedo Woman's Club helps support the community through fund-raising efforts throughout the year. A committee is formed to consider organizations for disbursement of funds. An annual coffee is held and participants receive their donations, usually in May. Throughout the years the club has donated to many organizations.

    "Dear Oviedo Women's Club,
With Great Day in the Country coming up, I had to write and thank you all once again for a scholarship you gave to my daughter Sara this past year. Sara's a freshman at Florida State University, she's our first child to go to college. Bright Futures is helping with her tuition. After we settled her in her dorm that first week, we went with her to pick up books for her schedule. Only three of her class's books and workbooks were in stock. As we checked out with a $370 bill, she was able to use your scholarship money. Boy, did we ever appreciate your funding. Just wanted you to know, you are greatly appreciated."                                                  ...L.S.
